YOU HAVE lots of choice in Spain. There are three resorts in mainland Spain, all in the far south, and also two holidays which combine touring with a stay at the Vera Playa Club. And, in the (Spanish) Canary Islands, we have holidays in Las Piteras in Lanzarote and the 4-star Occidental Grand Resort in Fuerteventura. THE VERA PLAYA CLUB (Vera Playa) is on the Costa Almeria at the northern tip of Andalucia, Spain’s most southern province. The nearest towns are Garrucha and Vera, three and six miles away respectively. The Costa Almeria is on the same latitude as Tunis in North Africa. (The hotel, incidentally, is in the bay where Hannibal and his elephants landed to invade Europe.) VERA NATURA Next door but one to Vera Playa, is the fully naturist village of Vera Natura. It shares the same spacious naturist beach and offers quieter holidays for families. COSTA NATURA (Costa Natura) is situated between Malaga (60 miles) and Gibraltar (27 miles), just three miles from the small town of Estepona. On the few bad days of the year (no heat haze!), the impressive Rock of Gibraltar and even the Rif Mountains of North Africa can be clearly seen. TOURING In addition to stay-put holidays we also have an option which combines touring with relaxation at Vera Playa: this is a five day Tour of Andalucia (the southernmost region of Spain) combined with nine days at Vera Playa. |
